Patrick Medley - Managing Partner
Patrick
has had 30 years as a management consultant, working for Coopers &
Lybrand, PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM in London, Singapore and Sydney. He has focused on leading strategy,
marketing, process improvement and technology engagements at many of the top
global and local Retail and Consumer Products clients including Proctor &
Gamble, Unilever, Nestle, Carrefour, Woolworths and Myer amongst many
others. In
his last roles at IBM, he was the Global Managing Partner leading the Global
Consumer Products consulting team and also led the Growth Markets Retail
team. He is recognized globally as a thought leader and visionary, and has
specialized in developing business and transformation strategies, working
with the senior leadership of a number of global and local organisations in
helping them transform their businesses in preparation for the future. He is regularly
asked to present at local and global conferences, and has led many sessions
working with clients across the world to help them understand and work
through their current and future challenges. He is currently the Managing
Partner of Kedleton & Co. He also sits on the Advisory Board of The Strategy Group as well as providing strategic advice and mentoring to a number of start-ups. Patrick is also passionate about teaching, and since leaving IBM in 2013, has been on the Adjunct Faculty at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He was responsible for the Strategic Consulting Projects course for the Full time MBA programme, and developed and led the delivery of a Strategic Consulting Projects course for the on-line MBAX programme. He also works with the AGSM Executive Education team, delivering training around the Trusted Advisor, Consulting Skills, Sales Skills, Future of Marketing and Product Development. In 2019, Patrick was appointed as Professor of Practice at the University of Sydney Business School, working with the Global Executive MBA courses and Executive Education, where he focuses on mentoring the students through their capstone projects. He is also the co-ordinator of the Australasian Guild of Winchester College, England. In addition, Patrick is a passionate environmentalist. He started the first professional Environmental Services practice at Cooper & Lybrand in 1990, and worked with many leading Australian organisations as they developed their early environmental strategies. He also led the first formal environmental audit in Australia. Over the years, he has worked with many environmental (and other) charities as they developed their strategies, including WWF and the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF). He was a trustee of WWF, and is now the President of the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife focused on Creating Parks and Saving Species. He is also a member of the Environmental Strategy Group of the Inner West Council. Before starting his consulting career, Patrick worked for Shell International in the UK and Australia as a Sales Manager and Marketing Manager before his final role as an International Brand Manager. Prior to Shell, Patrick was Export Manager for a UK company, focused on selling water heaters in the Middle East. Patrick
is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a
Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institute of Engineers (UK). He has an MBA from the University of Sydney
and a Double Honours in Commerce and Engineering from the University of
Birmingham, England. In his spare time, Patrick
enjoys sailing and cruising on Sydney Harbour, playing occasional erratic golf,
listening to a range of music and travelling for pleasure.
